Do You Want To Be Blessed?

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planteth by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season, his leaf also shall not wither and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. Psalms 1:1-3.
I read this one morning and it really caught my attention. Let me tell you what the Spirit showed me from these three scriptures.
The man/woman/young person and all in between that doesn’t walk in the counsel of people that don’t know the Lord will be blessed. But if you walk in the counsel of unsaved people you could get wrong advice and it could do you harm all your life.

Next, the one that doesn’t stand in the way of sinners is blessed also. How are you living your everyday life? This is what speaks to sinners. Anyone can go to church on Sunday and look spiritual and look like they have got it all together. But it’s the way we live everyday that speaks to those outside the church. We are suppose to be letting our light shine, but are we? If you are talking one thing and living another, you are standing in the way of sinners and they will see you are not living what you say. This is what keeps a lot of people from going to church and never getting born-again. We need to be living what we say to the sinner.

Last; sitting in the seat of the scornful. The person will be blessed if they don’t sit there. Some people judge everyone on the way they look, how they act and what they wear, etc. Don’t be one that scorns and makes a fuss over every little thing that doesn’t look right to you. Don’t be putting the preacher down because he doesn’t preach what you like all the time. Let sister so and so alone even if she does get too loud for you when she shouts. This is what scornful is to me. Maby it has another meaning to you. Anyway, its not a good seat to sit in, so don’t if you want to be blessed.

The person that doesn’t walk in these things delights in the law of the Lord and meditates in it day and night. When you delight in God’s Word, you won’t think about doing any of the things in the first verse we just discussed. You are too busy thinking about the Word of God day and night. You talk it, think about it, and read it. A person like that is not talking about anyone or thinking about what someone did or said or how they acted. He doesn’t walk in these things, so he is blessed.

It further says in verse 3 that he is like a tree planted by the rivers of water. He brings forth his fruit in his season and his leaf doesn’t wither and whatever he does will prosper. Think of that. All you have to do to be right on time for everything in your life is to not walk in the things in verse one. If you do that, then everything you do will prosper and work out right for you.

Preachers are preaching about prosperity all the time it seems. is one way you can prosper. It says whatsoever he does will prosper. God has always prospered his people with plenty of everything they need and more besides. He is still doing that today and all we need to do to prosper is do what He tells us to do. Are you doing something that is not working out? Then you should check up on yourself to see if you’re doing something along these lines that could be blocking your blessing. It says that WHATSOEVER he does will prosper. So if what you are doing isn’t working, then something is wrong, isn’t it?

We as Christians should do a checkup on ourselves from time to time to see where we’re at in our walk with the Lord. The Word of God is what we use to judge all things. Right now, check and see how you measure up with these three scriptures in Psalms 1: 1-3.
May you be blessed and prosperous always.
